Energy Transition

Beam Earth is an integrated group of companies focused on innovation to reduce emissions and accelerate the energy transition

In December 2015, world leaders at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP21) reached a breakthrough agreement commonly referred to as the Paris Agreement. This set guidelines that included the reduction of global greenhouse gas emissions to limit the global temperature increase in this century to 2°C and a framework for a shift towards a net-zero emissions world. The reality of this 4th global energy transition, a move from fossil fuel-base systems to renewable energy sources such as wind and solar, is that it will inevitably be gradual. To reach net zero emissions by 2050, annual clean energy investment worldwide will need to more than triple by 2030 to around $4 trillion, according to International Energy Agency estimates.  Find out more.

Hydrogen’s contribution to a sustainable energy system is starting to gain momentum as more than 20 governments have released national hydrogen strategies to support investment in this area. According to IEA, however, hydrogen’s contribution needs to grow sixfold to support the global energy transition and will still only account for 10% of total energy consumption by 2050. Beam Earth harnesses disruptive and innovative technologies to reduce emissions and offer a transition pathway to a cleaner future. Hethos is at the forefront of an emerging industry and exploring the production of naturally occurring renewable geological ‘white’ hydrogen, which it believes is the key to the energy transition.

Institutional investors can access this the hydrogen revolution through a dedicated investment vehicle, Technology Enhanced Hydrogen. Find out more.
