At the start of 2022, geologic hydrogen deposits, which we call ‘white hydrogen’ were discovered across one third of South Australia, triggering what has been termed a hydrogen rush. Recent policy changes have helped companies begin exploration drilling for natural hydrogen, which will accelerate understanding and potentially signal the start of an entirely new energy industry.
